Our client was consistently missing their program cost, schedule, and technical commitments to their customer. Lack of a skilled and experienced Program Manager was taking its toll on both their customer relationship and their credibility. Our Program Manager was able to rapidly assess the situation, provide insights to the root cause, and implement support and tracking for the technical team while standardizing an earned value management and schedule reporting system for visibility and improved communication of program status. Our experienced Program Manager and proven program management discipline took a marginally performing program to a program that is now meeting 100% of their cost, schedule, and technical requirements and commitments. This PROGRAM TURNAROUND has built significant customer rapport and credibility allowing our client to use the program as a stellar example of a Past Performance citation for future work with the current and future customers.

ELIMINATION OF A BOTTLECKING BACKLOG through TRENCH-TO-TOWER SURGE SUPPORT

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, attrition, difficulty recruiting experienced personnel, and resource constraints resulted in our client having a woefully understaffed procurement and subcontract organization. Their ballooning workload led to perilous bottlenecking across the entire business. Sleeves rolled up, our experienced Subcontract Manager immediately hopped in the trenches alongside our client’s overwhelmed staff. In short order and working hand-in-hand together, we helped our client work off both their entire backlog of tasks on current executing programs and new business pursuit programs. The tactical workload triage behind us, our Subcontract Manager then pivoted to provide long-term strategic mentorship, the very sort that continues to reap benefits today and for years to come. In the spirit of continuous improvement, we provided the skills and knowledge required to implement new tools, templates, processes, and policies to increase standardization and efficiencies. Our client’s strategic growth comes from competitive procurements throughout the year. When one faced a trend of losing these competitions on price—thereby jeopardizing their growth objectives—they knew it was time to get professional support. An exploration for the root cause spotlighted the glaring culprit: minimal independent competitive pricing analyses were performed on acquisitions. They needed an ‘Independent Price-to-Win (PTW),’ and not just any PTW, mind you; they needed one with a proven track record of success. To help our client gain this competitive edge and become the ‘obvious choice’ to the customer, we performed an Independent PTW on a current engagement. The outcome was significant: The independent assessment provided our client with the information required to make the wisest choice and they decided to not bid on the opportunity. Though the opportunity was important to them, the results of the INDEPENDENT PTW and Competitive Assessment allowed them to realize they were not going to be the ‘Obvious Choice’ which liberated them to re-direct their resources to other high-priority pursuits instead.
